The
online monitoring of air quality need a robust and
stable communication network to obtain high frequency of
operation. The NILU developed Automatic Data Acquisition
System (ADACS) can be used for automatic collection of
monitoring data.
The
measurements are transferred to the central station and
automatically stored into the AirQUIS database. NILU
further offers a complete solution where the databases
include all data from monitors or from samplers,
assembles the data and present them on various media
(e.g. password protected web pages) for the customer to
use.
The
data retrieval and data evaluation routine is described
as follows:
- When the first set of data is retrieved at the computer centre daily data evaluation starts. First of all calibration factors will have to be checked.
- Span checkpoints, errors, peak values, false data and other peculiarities in the retrieved data have to be taken out.
- Time plots of the data will be produced, to evaluate the diurnal, weekly and spatial variation in concentrations.
- Training in the
judgment of concentration levels and units will be undertaken.
The
tools for checking the data quality on a daily basis are
part of the AirQUIS system installed at the Central
Station.
AirQUIS
includes statistical routines and graphical presentation
tools. The customer can print out reports and follow the
air pollution concentration. NILU can offer as a special
service to handle and present all data for the customer.
The customer specify the data flow and data
availability, and NILU transfers all data to the
customer's system whenever required. Data can also be
available at all time via an open or a password
protected web solution.
