Dr. Ingjerd S. Krogseth is a senior scientist in the department for environmental chemistry at NILU. She is located at The Fram Centre in Tromsø.
Her research is focused upon the environmental behavior and bioaccumulation of organic contaminants, to increase the understanding of the complete link between emissions to the environment and exposure to ecosystems and humans.
She is particularly interested in contaminants of emerging concern, and particularly in Arctic ecosystems. Her main research activities include developing, evaluation, and application of mathematical models for organic contaminants in Arctic food webs. She combines the models with environmental measurements to increase the understanding of these contaminants, also in close cooperation with biologists and ecotoxicologists at other institutions in the Fram Centre’s research programme for hazardous substances
